Wipro to cut 1000 heads for non-performance
By
siliconindia news bureau
New Delhi: Wipro Technologies, an IT solution firm, is screening around 2,400-3000 employees (4-5 percent of the total workforce) on the grounds of non-performance. According to sources, around 1000 employees are being given the pink slips, while about 2000 are allowed to move on.
As per a report in The Economic Times, the company will provide some of the employees with counseling for boosting up their performance. Pratik Kumar, Wipro's Corporate VP (human resources), confirming the move, said, "It's a regular annual exercise. As the appraisal cycle gets over, a multi-layer review happens. Following that, people who have fallen in the lower quadrants of performance are put on watch. Some are asked to pull up and others are asked to move on." It includes all the 60,000 global IT services employees from the senior leadership team down to the person with one-year experience.
On the number of the employees who had been asked to move on, Kumar said the company did not disclose the number. But it was "significantly lower than 2,000" as company sources said about 1,000 employees were being asked to leave.
The employee base in Wipro has also come down from 62,070 to 61,345, as seen in the quarter ended June. But the company refutes it to be related to the slowdown and rather emphasizes it to be industry driven move. Kumar says, "It's not just our view, but the industry's view, that we have to be thoughtful of additions and drive productivity. We took a closer look at our hiring and realized that we did not need to hire more, since there were people on the bench."
However, the companies who have recently adopted the trend of giving off pink slips at anytime, decline it as a move to push through the slowdown era. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the country's largest IT services firm, had given pink slips to 500 non-performers. IBM, too, had asked about 700 employees in India to leave, citing non-performance. In July, Patni Computer Systems had shown the door to 400 employees.

Hi Mr./Miss Bhanu,
Instead of scolding people who do not know english...please learn to correct
your own english first. Learn how to speak out in a public forum without using
bad language. If you are not related to wipro at all, how come you are so
loyal...hahahaa....nobody is a fool out here...

The much needed thing is to expose urself at any kind of adverse circumstances.
This's been the trend happening in IT.But we should not forget all the reputed
IT firms are private enterpreuner, So their main focus is to get the profit out
of their business workflows.Be ready for any kind of worsts and get accomodated
according to the situation.

performing enjoying in d position and neglecting d work and tend to habituated
to pleasure and status,so every one should perform up to company's level and

Halo Mr. "Ush"...
The free food is not only for the boys and gals who send emails but also the
fake "Senior PMs" and fake "Technical Managers" (TMs) who do not even know how
to deal with the client properly. They are paid in lakhs just to get someone a
job through the back door. Why is Wipro turning a blind eye to these PMs and TMs
??

I see many guys and gals playing around with emails and jokes in the ODCs. they
still feel they r in college. Before they realize, they became lakpathis without
even writing 1000 lines of code. The 'free food' never lasts. One day or the
other you need to gear up a bit or pack ur bags and go.

The so called gaint IT indian companies
I have want some answers from you.
1). I had work experience with HCL, PATNY, Satyam and many other companies if
you say that resumes are faked then what the name we should give to you while
modifying the resume before submitting to US clients?
2). For the latest tech knowledges you ask for experience of 10+, and in fact in
india the outsourcing on this tech knowledge started recently .all this bledy
service providing companies need 12+ exp guys but even though if a person have
real time 5 yrs exp (0 fake) you wont sort list the profile ?
3). when some project is confirmed and you need resources for billing, you will
hunt for head count. why cant you stand firm regarding the fake and other
company standards at this kind of situations.
4). the so called great companies encouraged fake and now raising voice due to
down trend in US market.?
finally want to say.,,,,, who doesnt know about these great companies .

the Wipro HR force.. !

I definitely do not wish to be a part of a company like Wipro that treats
employees like buffaloes. Its all over the news that Wipro has thrown out around
4000 employees without any proper justification.
The HR tries to fog the minds of people by saying that 4000 employees were
sacked due to non-performance!!!!!!!!
Wipro's president Azim Premji is even scared of facing the
media...hahaaa....and Wipro talks of non-performance...Good joke...
I think they should close down all their ODCs and go back to selling baby
nappies...Thats the best place where they can hide...
Thanks...but no thanks...have a wonderful time in"Wipro"...one day it would be
the HRs turn to leave !

Every One,
Nice point of views. First of all look at IT Work force. Many of them come to
office to Chat with their friends and do stock market trades. I too dont agree
on giving pink slips and feel we should help the people who are not performing
by way of mentoring.
Who ever said WIPRO is a Vanaspati Company and not run by professionals. If you
are a professional can you run a Company like WIPRO :) Lets not become critic if
we are not an expert to crticize.
Lets accept the fact and improve ourselves so that we dont get into the list of
Non Performerce.
Last but not the least I am no way related to WIPRO and was never related to
WIPRO.

Lose Projects to other competitors
Pay least ever salaries in the market
Show Profits not less 25% every quarter so that share values are not down.
Use worst polices in work environment.
Take advantage of market trend even while hiring people.
Dont share your profits with employees when you are doing good.
Take away Power and Land in name of SEZ from the govt.
And even then if you are not satisfied by what you are getting blame it blame
it.. on performance of employees. Bull shit ..
How do you decide that a employee is not performing. When Market is not good.
This employee who is a performer is turn to be a non performer.
Stop this drama. Every one knows it.
Dont lead the country where every graduate feels like moving out of the
country to become a NRI
There are many countries in the world who respect techies many countries are
opening their doors.
Stop thinking like a frog be a global player.
Dont beg for what you can do.
Dont be a pray for this second rate and dual standard guys who speak about
best practices for hours together.
We shall move on. Until we find what we want.
Best wishes for all those who are effected.

The so called non performance is solely measured by the appraisal rating.. many
of these managers in Wipro lack planning and are miserable in people skills.
They place unrealistic demands on the employees... none of the team member
problems are addressed. In the end they give a lousy rating.. so just because of
a lousy appraisal rating of one manager the employee gets sacked for "non
performance" !!

Freshers or top rankers straight from campus will no doubt - perform well at
anytime. But there are some people who are subaverage, who do not perform well -
such people should definitely be kicked out - otherwise the organisation will
lose its value because of them

All certain done the comments are indeed valid and hold truth. We are geting
governed by the west and the ripple effect of economy slowdown is impacting
everyone. Poor performance should also be attributed right up to the top similar
to good performance being showcased at the top.
Not sure how can one judge performance of ppl on bench when they were asked to
stay put and do nothing at all. Neither you are giving a chance nor you are
asking them to perform. Unfair to show pink slips on masse. I guess that should
be gradual and each manager throwing ppl on bench should have the guts to deal
with such performance issues right at the stage where it was dipping.
The support functions and core operations should have common objectives rather
than their own which are often not integrated. This occurs in large
organizations like Wipro/Satyam/TCS/HCL and one takes the lead and the others
follow. I guess the art of copy paste should stop and innovation should begin in
a real sense

Step 1: Starter - At interview time these 1000 people are assessed as
performers!
Step 2: Story moves - A CMM/ISO company is managing these 1000 performers.
Step 3: An year or so passed.
Step 4: Pre-Climax: Through appraisal system, the ISO/CMM company assessing them
as non-performers.
Step 5: Comedy scene - Company is no way responsible for turning the performer
to a non-performer. It is done by themself with their own effort. Every one
laugh except the 1000 actors.
Step 5: Climax: Pls. Leave!. The 1000 people leaving the place by carriying the
car loan, house loan, marriage loan, ...and dropping the mental peace.
Step 6: Go to Step 1. Repeat until the colleges can provide its top rankers

I do NOT say that giving pink slip is a wrong move... Taking the example of
Wipro, out of 61K employees, why only 1000 were thrown out? Answer is simple..
they did not perform...
Now, on the other side, what does this mean? When a person is said to be
non-performing, based on his apprisal (as mentioned by Pratik Kumar - CEO of
Wipro), it just means that he did not meet the objectives set by his manager...
While I fully accept that giving Pink slips for non-performers is correct, my
question is
"Has the appraisal process been fair enough to make sure that performers are
not degraded because of some kinda hard rub with the manager?"
"Has the process been clear & validated by HR?"
"Has the HR discussed the appraisal outcome with the employee before making the
final decision?"
If all the above questions are answered and if still an employee is given PINK
slip, then it has to be accepted that he is non-performer, rather than deciding
it just with the comments from a manager.
Of course, IT firms are not doing social service... they are paying for the
brians... if abrain is better, they keep it.. else they throw it off... its
BUSINESS boss!!!

HR management should be given the pink slips they should think twice before
hiring people. on one hand they pull up people on the grounds of
non-performance and on the other hand they undertake recruitment drive. I
guess they should find an alternative as to how to improve the business by
finding clients rather than giving PINK Slips

Some people have only IT experience. Some people have non-IT experience. As IT
is paying high and many opportunies are there to go around the world, definitely
a non-IT person prefers to get into IT. For that he needs to acquire IT skils
and show some experience on paper. Otherwise how he can be considered for an
interview? I believe that worldly experience is greatest and IT experience is a
tiny part of it. A guy who has gone through many goods and bads in life, will
have the capability of understanding and implementing things in desired ways.
Recently some of these IT giants are making it mandatory for IT guys to register
in some websites, naming it National Security. Many IT seekers (non IT people)
are not interested to do so. Are these companies loosing great minds this
way??? Do the IT companies have a right to check personal, study, career, etc.,
of a person who is going to come to them for his livelihood??? A TRUST from an
individual is subjected to many TESTS ???
I got promotion as Automation lead (joined as a Tester) within one year after
joining this company. Where does experience stand before exposure???
I'm ready to join the team of IT Association and take these issues to
Government's concern and help people to live in a secured way. When a person
has financial security and freedom to perform, he will definitely work for the
company for a longer period.

Now a days its lot happening in big IT companies, have anyone find out why its
so happening. The most stressful work is done in this IT field where they have
to use their fresh mind. Company has also to think about the employees
requirements not only the client wherther they will be able to handle any new
projects. So stop moving out the people from the company on a large number. We
alway heard 1000, 5000, 7000 etc people have removed from so and so company, why
this large number are everyone at a time not performaning good. Because everyone
gives their best because the employee as well company has to survive.

to use their fresh mind.

This is very pathetic approach adopted by all Major IT companies like WIPRO,
SATYAM, TCS and INFOSYS after the slowdown in US economy and now they dont
have any enough reasons why they could not do yearly appraisals. This strategy
is called PRA (Profit Recovery Actions) in IT industry and poor people who were
not giving any projects because they could not secure the projects due to tough
competitions among various company and these poor people who are in Bench
for some time and Bench for not giving opportunities because these
companies are Poor Performance in getting the Opportunities and
providing Equal Opportunities to the employees, Those are clever in the
company and got blessing hands or Pets of some supervisor/higher management even
they are REAL poor performers would not get fired they keep their jobs
happy.
It would be great, if any from IT companies start the Employee Unions like
in America etc. where we can fight for the sake of the employees. If you see all
IT employees are promised with good salary, growth and based on these some many
people have opted to Home Loans at very pay EMI/s, not the home loans we do have
our life style change by expending more and more because we are earning like
that! Now all our sudden there is some US/UK or other countries economy goes
down and that impact the lives of IT employees in India. Only Solutions to these
IT Employees is Suicide? is it not these people are pushing for it? Please
note that Im not encouraging for it!!! I see these situations with two of my
friends and they are NO MORE
Now its time to start our employee union, please remember Im a Project Manager
in one of the Major IT Company listed here above, not that Im a communist!!!
So get up!! Well either take our PROBLEMS to Government of India, Where
the indian services companies recruit heavily with out any strategy or just
branding their company image. When they see a large number of employees on
bench" they think of the lay-off strategy enroute the performance criteria.
I agree that really POOR PERFORMANCE should be fired, only when someone is
judged for their performance (not just one performance, it should be 360
degrees) after they have given an REAL OPPORTUNITIES in the REAL
PROJECTS and proved they are not fit to that Projects should rotate to
other projects where their skills are really fit.. It should be noted that it is
NOT ONLY of fault of resource/Employee. It is BIG FAULT of the RECRUITER
So come on guys!!! Lets rise of your voice.. against this PRA (Profit recovery
actions) initiated by companies to overcome the current appraisal problems which
they are facing!!!
I think after WIPRO, Next is SATYAM will do the same thing .. So guys open
your mouth and take our voice to Union Labour Minister of India. We all
Indians should know our government, our minister and seek their help, so please
send emails to all official with our plights.

These things are likely to happen in the services based industry as the intake
is higher . The top 5 indian services companies recruit heavily . When they see
a large number of employees " on bench " they think of the lay-off strategy
enroute the performance criteria . All the engineers have the capability to
perform . The employers have to do their homework before recruiting .

Most of the comment are on the past growth and slowdown now..
Somewhere there should be a balance and unity with in the HR dep b/w some firms
so that the current employees are not left unattended with just a pink slip. The
firm need to be far more responsible with there employees eithers performers

It happens mostly in all IT industry that they recruit people giving lots of
false promises like High Pay, Good hike, work envi etc.. But after the employee
joins the company they dont even care for the employee welfare.. What they want
is that their work is to be done by the time they give us as the deadline and
after that our deadline will start.. They will do what ever they wish.. I dont
say they have to keep the employees sit idle but though you ppl are going to do
a layoff, inform the employees well in advance yar.. They can search for some
other opportunities. A day before when they come and if the company says go home
what will they do?... Shud we say that this is US culture???

This is a company that is crippled by poor people management and a totally inept
HR function. The fact that people are "on the bench" or not performing is
management's fault. Too much time is spent on re-organising, strategizing and
giving top jobs to friends and family with little or no support to the people
who are actually earning the money.

This is my personal view: companies must down size only if they start making
losses. After all its the same employees who have earned them profits. Rajkumar
can you tell me why industry did not bother about the flab it was growing over
the years. Why they woke up today all of a sudden. It makes me feel that this
company's employees were outstanding untill last year and all of a sudden their
performance dropped. If there are enough projects they these companies recruit
every tom, dick and Harry and start patting on their back for even answering 1+1
= 2. I am not against down sizing, if its done in a transparent way.

Reading through the comment from Mr Rajkumar really makes me think that he wants
us to believe that current sacking of 1000's of employee started with the
re-org. He also says that people dont understand how corporate is run. Mr
Rakjumar please tell me then why Mr. Partik Kumar says this is a yearly norm in
wipro and you say this is a deliberate result of cleaning which started with the
re-org this year. One of you or both of you seems to lying here. The joint -
CEO itself looks like an overhead to me, why Wipro needs 2 CEO's while others
have doing better then them with just one. Mr Rajkumar to tell you bluntly
companies like Wipro are exploiting poor employees as India does not have strong
labor laws as in other countries. Sacking people on basis of one off
review/appraisal is not justified to be called performance related. Please dont
be a sychophant and have some integrity to tell the truth

Reading through the comments, make me sick that not many people understand how
corporate business is run. First of all, the change has not happended only at
engineer level, it has started at the top. Probably many of you sitting outside
and not to upto date about last 6 months of news about Wipro feel this way.
There are changes at the top which happended in May, followed by changed in the
middle management. Lastly, non performer are shown door which is fair. Moreover,
many of them develops complacency attitidue which itself is a suicidal. I am
glad this is happening and it is required to govern the company of this size
more efficiently.

I am ONLY interested to know the number of managers that will get sacked by
this. BUT, the BIG question is, will they sack them. AND, the answer is NO.
Because, Wipro is a manager-oriented company. Totally political and no value.
Rules are made for the managers and are for them ONLY. They have long time back
itself forgot the fact that, there are engineers working in the company.

Really pathethic company. Firing employees on basis of one review or appraisal
is not done. The company's true character is shown during downturn. Wipro is
surely showing its here. This shows how Indian companies can get away treating
its employee's shabbily while owners and senior management have heavy pay days.

This is really sad, The truth is Wipro has failed to get enough projects. Most
of the senior management have thousands of shares that get impacted by operating
margin. The performance based firing is just a pre-text to get operating margin
via billability in track. Firing employee's on basis of one review is not
good. The company would not be able to hold on or acquire new hires when the
demand is good. Has the company thought about the future of the 1000 odd
employees it fired. This is really really sad day for the country. There needs
to be employee rights as the country does not provide social security to its
citizens. Wipro stinks..

This is just because of one thing.People are recruited from all available
sources and put on bench, as not sufficient work is there for them. There are
people who are really depressed being in such position. They are just trained on
certain technology or language and put on bench till a project concerning comes
over. If they are on bench for a long time, they are trained on another
technology and put on bench again. Or to the maximum, they are put on support of
an old project, which hardly requires or hardly lasts long enough to their
satisfaction of work. How on earth will they work efficiently or whole
heartedly?
The campus recruitment drive is a major issue where they select top
candidates in average and good colleges, and give them joining dates months
later or even it takes an year. This majorly effects their interest in the
company and work. On top of that , once joined, they are put on bench for long
periods. Lack of projects? Then why do you recruit without requirement?
Now, you fire or 'cut down' heads on the issue of non-performance! Very
pitiable position of the company.

This is certainly a big issue. It has become a menace now a days. First the
employees are hired and then fired immediately. I think, there must be a
provision of contract between hired employees and companies. The contract or
probation period must be well defined to employees. under this, no employee
should be fired from his/ her services before the end of probation period.
performance should be calculated without any discrimination. then, its upto the
company to decide which employee should be terminated or retained after
finishing of contract.

Non Performance can only be judged when there is some criteria of measuring
performance, but it is very sad that in companies there are no job
responsibilities defined as such and also the concerned employee boss always
want a secretary rather than a collegue or assistant. if this is the way
corporate functions then thats the end of story...no body can prevail else dogs
who knows good politics and new talent cant come front.....

Firing on the basis of non performance ..but who is going to judge this issue of
non performance
In many service companies manager who submits the apprisal comments lack of
technical skills even some time they are not well aware of project architecture
which is going under them. There comments might not be technicaly correct but it
will be driven by other factors.
It will be better if such comments comes it should be investigated
throughly,impartially and honestly.
There should be some norms to judge the performance issue which should be
drafted by some standard bodies.

If so many employyes are not performing then it is time to fire the HR and
recruitment team, who are responsible for bringing these people into the
company.
If so many people are not performing, then rather than firing them one has to
look at the root of the problem which might be anything from lack of job
satisfaction to insuffcient pay hikes to lack of challeneges and variety in the
work.

For those who have lost jobs and are really good in their domain, getting a new
job is not a big deal. For others this is an introspection time to check where
they are lacking. But it would be wrong to take any job for granted, be it IT,
Telecom or HR. These are competing times in India, if you don't do your job well
there are hundreds of young people ready to work more harder at a lesser pay.

This is too much, if there is no requirements and project in the firm , why the
organizations recruiting the employes, and kept on bench. why the organizations
collecting the employees and keep on bench and after that they fire the people
based on the coming project and resources they need actually. how the
organizations calculating perfomance of the peoples without giving the project

Well, I have few questions..........
1) if they dont have the perfomance how the employees get slected in the
interviews?
so the compnay won't have proper interview planing and procedure.
2) If they have poor perfamence, how they servived in their previous

3) can't we findout employee perfamance and his attitude while interviewing ? we
can findout right person in interview pannel . but this is not happening in

they dont know exact procedure of conducting interview. even if they are

not a solution to low productivity issue in any IT company. Infact it adversely
affect the morale of the employees.

For those who are supporting this happening, performing in a company like Wipro
or any such IT comapny is not a rocket science anyway. A sincere guy can do it
anyway. But the real problem lies in the hard fact that the companies these days
are not being able to afford the huge number of employee base it has formed over
the years and also they have to recruit fresh hires just to show that they are
going good. That's why they are onto lay off. I agree there might be some cases
of non-performance but you just think how come 1000 - 2000 employees started
non-performing all on a sudden. Did they get any dream or wot ? It's basically
the non-performance of the companies which primarily leads to this kind of
situation. If somebody is thinking "I am performing and nothing can happen to
me" you are mistaken. B'coz the day company starts doing bad you would be kicked
off as well.

Of Course,
that is the way ,
non performance nahin chalega
If you work well, you get one more bonus / increment
And if you dont, you get training, first, second and third time
Thereafter, same thing as what WIPRO did to 1000 of them

that is the way ,

if you are emphasizing so much on performance then make the performance
measurement process more proven and error free ...
you should follow some proven method for performance evaluations and not depend
on some biased human beings..
If you can do so then that will be real performance evaluations and the result
of that should be well accepted ...

I wonder all on a sudden these software companies come to know about the
non-performance of even a senior guy. Well, about a fresher, I donno why
somebody is recruited even if he is so soon found to be a non-performer. The
definition of performance is getting so shady with every passing day in the IT
industry. It has almost been equated with the prejudice of some manager or
supervisor observing the particular candidate or the non-performance of the
Company itself. Service comapnies like TCS, CTS, Wipro, Infosys - they would
recruit people in thousands of numbers without having any such urgent
requirements and then when they fail to get work/project for the recruited wrok
force they lay them off saying they are not performing. Just to keep up the
number of hires in a year they have to do these recruitments and to show the
world/customers/potential customers that they are doing so great in the market
these guys are recruited. This is to say with abysmal sorrow that no body even
bothers what happens to these poor guys who didn't get a chance to perform still
being tagged as non-performers so soon in their career. I know people who are
not getting any work for the last 1-2 year at a stretch and just counting on
their days to be soon laid off from the company for no good reason. People talk
about lavish of IT employees. People do burn our but day in and day and day out
in the industry for getting so much perks. They have to come at 8 and never know
when get rid off days work and this goes for whole life. People have to be
polite, diplomatic as well as diligent to be in the industry. And things like
these are so depressing to hear. Best wishes for all the people who had to
suffer this. Go ahead and show u are not unwanted or a non-performer.

"one of those facing highest level of stress, while those with least stress are
govt employees." Now this is the point. Have u ever thought why software engrs
(SE) are paid that much? See I don't mean to take a lot of stress. No , not at
all but they know this is new technology or they can be trained to work on it.
And yes not all of them waste their time , thats why there is ~3% lay off.
Actually people do waste their time in govt. departments too but they still
remain there. and this is one of the main differences b/w govt and private
industries. So why should a business man, who is running his industry and solely
responsible for it becoz its not govt. driven and nobody else will help him,
keep the non performers.
Well the point is for those who are working in pvt. industries to understand
this point and keep working sincerely so that there are LESS chances for laid
off or LESS lay off is happened.

Why the same exercise was not done in 2005 or 2006. Every action has equal &
opppsite reaction. Companies will neve raccept that they are laying of employees
because of IT slow down as part of their cost cutting, rather they will prefer
to give some diplomatic statements like industry driven move etc. Its alll
non-sense because of the IT slow down companies are aggressively cutting down
their operationg cost in all major ways to just retain their same profits.

Mr. Satendra,
you talk about chatting , smoking , making plans for new trips, etc. and the
first job a Indian would imagine is a governt job. You are worried about axe
falling on you and commenting on those about whom you have slightest idea.
I am not a software engineer myself but Let me inform you that the job of a
software engineer is considered a one of those facing highest level of stress,
while those with least stress are govt employees.
Gentleman, you must have seen the other news in SI itself. I am not surprised
in presence of people like you that Govt is mulling to give a payhike to "NON
Performer" senior managers in PSUs.

Companies try to correct their follies this way and attribute it to non
performance. To be honest, if one digs down the issue, there are very few non
performers among those who are fired.

hmm nothing is bad, it is supposed to happen in private industry (more often in
software) because majority of young blood less understand their reponsibility
and they think getting a job in software company is just about earning a lot of
money and doing nothing.
Job to them is just go to office for chatting , smoking , making plans for new
trips, higher studies etc.
I am worried that lay off shouldn't start happening in Govnt. jobs soon !

IT industry always complains about attrition rates and subsequent pressures on
salary components. This is well thought out strategy employed by organisations
to keep salaries at bay and thereby sprucing up bottom lines.
They go out for reckless hiring based on poor planning and rosy pictures painted
out by some bluffy buniess analysts.
Its a good time for them to look out the methodologies employed by them to
project business. Moreover, Indians are not losing their IT advantage due labor
cost (as projected by IT firms in the media), but due to lack of niche talent.
These companies, for ages, have never cared for real technological talents. Most
the middle management that exists in IT companies are technically poor and
mangementwise - a disaster.
Its a high time for IT companies to have a close look at nurturing leadership
over management.

This is really bad but then even company needs to survive in this slowdown to
hire more in the next season. The employees should be smart enough to sense this
long before and switch to other industries quickly.

Well how many times we have just come out from our office building in working
hours and heard plenty of people on phone... and what do they really talk....
Some of them are giving some round of telephonic interviews
Some of them talking to friends and saying that... "Yaar mast company hai kaam
na karo toh badhiya aur kaam karo toh aur bhi badhiya..
Some complaining company policies ... salary.... staff... work culture.....
Who is satisfied..? In my opinion very few........
How many time it happens that people just move on to other companies just for
salaries..........
Some of our friends have taken switch to more than 4 companies in their initial
5 years careers...?
And whats the reason behind all this.....?
People who grow in an organization are the one which are either exceptionally
talented or the persons who love their Work and put in their best...
How many employees give dedicated 6 hours work in the organization which they
work for..? Very few...
Mr. X might be a person working hard for his and organizational growth and Mr. Y
sits next to him and just cribbing ... cribbing for work... for food... for
cafeteria... for onsite assignments.... for cabs... for AC in Cabs.....almost
everything...
People like Mr. Y are the ones which are targeted whenever a company goes for
scrutinizing the candidates based on their performance.... This in my opinion is
not wrong.......
Many a times people are not allocated to any project... they wait for the
allocation to happen from company side...but only few of them take a proactive
step and go to the manegement and say boss i'm not allocated to any project .. I
want a project... aloocate me ASAP. .... what most people do is enjoy this time
as an honeymoon period and later blame the company.........
Everyone should deserver first rather than desire...
But yes the parameters on which company is scrutinizing employees must be well
defined and there must a regulatory body who should frame the format and review
with organisations on the basis of the same.

this is really bad they should look out for some other alternatives, firing
people is not a solution to low productivity issue in any IT company. Infact it
adversely affect the morale of the employees.

Indian corporates must show more professionalism in their approach. NASSCOM must
not only take case of Industry's interest but also consider employee welfare.
Every company must present number of layoffs they made each month.
