Quit or relocate: Yahoo! to employees
Chennai: Followed by Bangalore-based 24/7 Customer forcing to relocate or find alternative jobs for more than 400 employees, now Yahoo! India asks its editorial team to join the company's Bangalore office or exit.
A Times of India report states that the decision is not known. However the sources said that the company has given short notice to Chennai 10 member team, which contributed editorial content to Yahoo! India. The 10 people were employed with a Bangalore based private news syndicate, which had an office in Chennai. Besides, it is learnt that Yahoo! terminated a technical support agreement with a software services company as well.
An employee of Yahoo's Chennai office confirmed the development. "Yahoo has offered to absorb them into the organization if they are willing to relocate," he told The Times of India, on condition of anonymity.
A spokesperson for Yahoo India said, "Yahoo routinely consolidates its operations for better scale and growth. We currently have 3 employees at our Chennai office and are relocating them into our other facilities. The Chennai office was inherited through an acquisition some time ago and this relocation is part of our integration plan for better scale. We are aggressively hiring and continue to grow in India."
The move comes close on the heels of Keane India axing 400 jobs across its centers in India.

On the contrary the person seeking employment must look at earnings in the medium term. Obviously it must be planned and not blown up through indiscriminate spendings.
It is also important that the individual must take stock of the long term prospect. I know it is difficult for a 21 year old to plan his life. Not only it can be done but in the global context his counter part in the developed country takes charge of his/her life at the age of 18.

No heart feeling guys, I think your organizations are far better than those organizations, because you still have a job. Imagine those who have been sacked and getting a job in another organization is not so easy for them.
I am an Ops Manager for an IT company in Bangalore, who has sacked some of his best Team Leads and Team Members stating these stupid reasons.

Comment 15: Both Bangalore and Chennai are good places to live in. Companies have various strategies to relocate. There are companies which have operations both in Chennai & Bangalore. Based on cost, talent availability etc., these companies also consolidate their real estate because of operational cost. So, let us not blame one company or one place. Let us be practical in understanding the requirements. It is our job that feeds us and our family. If you are not happy, try for another suitable job in a location that fits you.

No matter even if you are earning lakhs, if you are biased for / against places, you can't write few lines in english without a mistake, you would not prosper.
