Book review
The Mahabharata is essentially the story of the Pandavas and their cousins, the Kauravas. Around the theme of the rivalry and feud is built an epic which has sustained the Indian personality over the centuries. In the process, the sons of Pandav have become heroes to the nation. It is not as if the Pandavas had no faults. They did, but if the faults gave them their human appeal the achievements gave them their heroic stature. All through their lives they faced difficulties and hardship brought upon them by date and the flaws in their character. But they triumphed over them because they had faith in themselves and what is more important, in God.Valour and courage are the qualities most associated with the Pandavas; they were also marked by humility and charity without which they could never have won the divine friendship of Krishna.
